The Original Nantucket Lightship Basket in Gold
In 1977 Glenaan Elliott Robbins designed the first gold Nantucket lightship basket in miniature. She has designed round and oval nesting baskets, lidded baskets, picnic baskets, and baskets of many unique and unusual shapes. They are designed with meticulous attention to detail. The handles swing and the hinges work, allowing the lids to open to reveal a miniature penny inside. The scrimshaw on the lidded baskets is done by hand with either black or multicolored inks.
Baskets are designed in Platinum, 18k gold, 14k gold, or Sterling Silver. They can be set with precious stones or pearls. All original baskets by Glenaan are signed and dated.
